The Neon Museum
Let the Las Vegas museums take you on a journey through the captivating stories and creative expressions of this vibrant city.

A Tribute to Vegas Glitz and Glam
For those looking to explore art, culture, and history, the various Las Vegas museums are not to be missed.
Las Vegas is synonymous with neon lights, and The Neon Museum is where the city’s most iconic signs go to retire. Walking through the “Neon Boneyard” is akin to taking a stroll through Las Vegas history. Imagine towering casino signs from the mid-20th century or glowing movie marquees, all beautifully restored to transport visitors to another era, making it one of the most iconic Las Vegas museums.
As you explore the best Las Vegas museums, you will find that each one offers a distinct perspective on the city’s history and creativity.
Why It’s Worth Your Time
Every sign here tells a story, making it a fantastic place for history buffs and Instagram lovers alike. A guided tour can enhance your visit, the best time being that golden hour just prior to sunset, when the museum’s artfully restored signs light up in all their glowing glory, all within time to hit up a Cirque show afterwards. We chose to walk it ourselves, take a few photos, and read the bios on each. (30min-2hr)
The Mob Museum
Peek Behind Vegas’ Gangster Past
Officially known as the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, The Mob Museum gives you the gritty lowdown on the mob’s role in shaping Las Vegas. Housed in the city’s historic federal courthouse, this museum dives deep into stories of crime, corruption, and justice.

Must-See Highlights
The speakeasy style bar, The Underground, hidden downstairs is an iconic place to feel like one of the gang while sipping an old fashioned or sidecar during the prohibition. Password for the outside entrance is on the website for The Underground.
Check out the crime lab, take part in a simulated FBI raid, or explore Al Capone’s revolver. It’s interactive, immersive, and packed with fascinating exhibits that make you (almost) feel like you’re living in a Hollywood gangster flick.
We found the Valentines Day Massacre exhibit with real bricks from the wall an eerie piece of history worth reading about and experiencing at this Las Vegas museum.
Discovery Children’s Museum
Las Vegas museums are designed to appeal to all ages, making them perfect for family outings and educational experiences.
Fun for Curious Young Explorers
Many visitors discover that the Las Vegas museums can provide a refreshing break from the usual entertainment options found on the Strip.
Planning a family day out in Vegas? The Discovery Children’s Museum is a haven for kiddos (and their parents). This three-story space is all about hands-on learning. Kids can conduct science experiments, make art, or even dabble in becoming young architects by designing their dream buildings.
Why It’s a Hit
It’s educational, highly interactive, and fun for all ages. The Discovery Children’s Museum is an excellent way to take a break from the Vegas heat while keeping the kids entertained and learning, proving that Las Vegas museums aren’t just for adults. Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art
Art, Culture, and Elegance
Located within the luxurious Bellagio Resort, the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art is perfect for anyone looking to add a touch of sophistication to their Vegas trip. Featuring rotating exhibits from around the world, this gallery has hosted works by iconic artists such as Picasso, Monet, and Warhol.
While we were visiting, we experienced the life changing art of Yayoi Kusama’s Infinity Mirror room. Highly recommend finding a city that has one of her installations wherever you can find one. Not to be missed.

Insider Tip
This space is compact, making it ideal for a quick visit. Check their website to confirm current exhibits and plan your visit accordingly. Be sure to also see the seasonal display at Bellagio’s Conservatory & Botanical Garden for some awe-inspiring beauty that will blow your mind every time.
The National Atomic Testing Museum
A Fascinating (And Eerie) Look at History
Las Vegas may seem like an odd spot for atomic history, but its proximity to the Nevada Test Site during the Cold War makes this museum a meaningful destination. The National Atomic Testing Museum explores the fascinating and dangerous history of atomic bomb testing.
This Las Vegas museum had been on my list for years before we decided to finally check it out. Absolutely worth it. It’s a part of our history that I didn’t have much knowledge on, and this greatly enhanced my learning.

Unforgettable Exhibits
You’ll see everything from Geiger counters and old test footage to displays about how atomic culture shaped American fashion, movies, and art during the mid-20th century. Don’t miss the simulated bomb blast experience. It’s intense, educational, and unforgettable.
Insider Tip
After you get your fill of the history of atomic testing in Arizona, why not head over to Atomic Liquors in downtown, which has been serving drinks to Vegas since 1952.
Now, although you can no longer sit on the roof and have a drink watching atomic bombs being tested out in the desert like locals once did, you can however, enjoy a drink, shoot some pool where the Rat Pack did, and explore the history of the bar and its founders and patrons on the walls of the dimly lit bar. Outside is the beer garden to enjoy the Vegas sunshine.
Zak Bagans’ The Haunted Museum
For Thrill-Seekers and Paranormal Enthusiasts
Are you a fan of the creepy and bizarre? Zak Bagans’ Haunted Museum is your destination. An eccentric mix of haunted artifacts, cursed relics, and chilling stories makes this museum an adrenaline-pumping adventure. Zak Bagan’s, the paranormal investigator from the Travel Channel series, Ghost Adventures, has spent millions of dollars curating from all over the world

From Dr. Jack Kevorkian’s van (which as a nurse I just found fascinating) to haunted dolls and clowns (no thank you!), serial killer paraphernalia (Ted Bundy’s kill kit), and unexplainable phenomena, this museum keeps your heart racing. You are on a very organized tour with a guide that knows more about these terrifying items than I would want living rent free in my own brain, but it is an experience like no other.
By far the scariest items would be the Dybbuk Box – known as the world’s most haunted object (google the video of rapper Post Malone’s experience after being in the presence of the haunted wine cabinet). Alternately, you might find the Peggy doll, the rocking chair, Bela Lugosi’s mirror, the Demon House room, the basement or any of the items in the serial killer room.
Expect the Unexpected
When planning your trip, make sure to include visits to various Las Vegas museums to fully appreciate the diversity of attractions available.
It’s not for the faint of heart, but perfect if you’re drawn to macabre curiosities. I’ve been here twice and I will say it is worth the extra cost of the VIP pass if you want to see it all. That pass will get you into a few of the rooms that the regular ticket won’t. I feel like you’d see something different each time you visit, as there is soooo much crammed into each room and the house is a huge maze of rooms.
Although cameras are absolutely off limits (as in placed in a locker on your way in), this place will leave a lasting impression and quite possibly haunt your dreams. Do yourself a favor, bring a protective crystal in your pocket and burn some sage on your way out to clear those inevitable spooky vibes.
Las Vegas Natural History Museum
For those who crave an adventure steeped in learning and discovery, the Las Vegas Natural History Museum is an absolute treasure. Walking through its exhibits is like taking a time machine back into the prehistoric world alongside dinosaurs or stepping into the deep ocean to learn about its mysteries.
Why it is a Hit
This Las Vegas museum nurtures your curiosity with hands-on displays, live animal exhibits, and immersive experiences that make science and nature come alive. It’s a perfect destination for families, solo explorers, or anyone eager to feed their sense of wonder.
After exploring this Las Vegas museum, why not rent a car and explore some nature outside the city. Death Valley is one of my favorite areas for trails and adventure. Check out my posts on Death Valley – A Perfect Weekend in Death Valley, What I Wish I’d Known before I Visited, and Best Restaurants near Death Valley.
Titanic Exhibit at the Luxor
The diversity and richness of exhibits across Las Vegas museums will captivate your imagination, inviting you to learn more.
Standing before a massive piece of Titanic’s hull, I felt a wave of awe and solemn reflection wash over me. The Titanic Exhibit at the Luxor is more than a display—it’s a deeply personal and immersive glimpse into one of the most captivating stories of the 20th century.

Why its Worth Visiting
It is more than a ticket you are handed as you enter. It is a replica of a Titanic ticket, which has a name on it and some info about an actual passenger of the fated ship. As you walk among the carefully curated artifacts, such as passengers’ belongings and restored furnishings, you feel connected to your individual traveler.
At the end, you look at the list of survivors and see if your passenger lived or died that fateful day. It brings the ship and its voyage to life. It’s an experience that reminds you of the fragility of life and the resilience of the human spirit, leaving you with chills and inspiration in equal measure.
Itching for more history? Next to The Titanic exhibit is the ancient Egyptian experience, Discovering King Tut’s Tomb. Learn all about the tomb of the most famous boy-king full of artifacts, treasures, and all the mummy fun surrounding the young pharaoh.

Pinball Hall of Fame
If you’re looking for a burst of nostalgia with a playful twist, look no further than the Pinball Hall of Fame. A short walk from the Mandalay Bay, this huge, 25,000 square feet building is wall-to-wall with vintage pinball machines and classic arcade games, walking into this space feels like stepping into a vibrant time capsule.

The clicks, dings, and flashing lights create an atmosphere that’s part retro, part electric, and 100% fun. Whether you’re an experienced pinball wizard or a first-time player, there’s something utterly joyful about losing yourself in the charm of it all, knowing every quarter you spend helps support a charitable cause, as this is a non-profit enterprise.
