Ever feel like you’ve failed others? Or even worse, yourself?
Well, welcome to me. I stopped on the blog for way too long. Just let it go. Started dozens of drafts, took 10,000 photos, traveled to Europe twice, took 3 cruises, and was on a plane exploring over a dozen times. Got three new certifications – Reiki, Oracle Readings, and Crystal Healing, to add to my nursing degree. Researched tons of supplements, ADHD, peri-menopause, celiac disease, and more during an 8 month recovery without work. Yet…no posts.
And let me tell you. I’ve made alllll the excuses (and some are legit to my ego) for why it has been over 2 years since a post. Here’s just a few:
1) I had a car accident that derailed my creative juices, and resulted in two spinal surgeries to my neck and back, and quite possibly, I’m facing another one.
2) BAM…got diagnosed with celiac disease and had to grieve the loss of gluten for this foodie.
3) When I finally decided to get back into writing, I found out that over half of my posts were wiped off the internet, and my webdesigner couldn’t even figure out where they went. My heart cracked a bit at that one, and I kept thinking it was a “sign”.
4) My life long perfectionism. How dare I post without checking the spelling, grammar, and content 600x’s. Well, I’m going to work on letting that go. Being messy, and letting loose. Feel free to judge me, I’m certainly doing that, lol.
The fact of it all, is that, yes, there were excuses, life gets in the way, but I was still taking the photos, writing the notes, researching the shit out of places, and yes… still traveling.
“Excuses begone”, as Wayne Dyer would have said.
So I’m back.
My heart and soul needs this outlet.
My coworkers and friends wouldn’t stop pestering me to get give them ideas for their travels.
And I might say, I think this next post is one for the books.
Truly, I hope you enjoy this post on a surprisingly amazing west coast location that stole my heart.
